With over 300 climbing and studio customers coming through our doors every day, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team in The Gritstone, our cafe, bar and pizzeria. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service in this fast-paced environment. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have an enjoyable experience while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared according to our quality standards. Serve food and beverages to customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment. Help manage inventory by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Support catering events as required, assisting with setup and service. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Engage with customers, taking their orders accurately and addressing any queries or concerns.

Qualifications

Barista experience is essential. Previous experience in a restaurant or cafe setting is essential. Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. Experience in catering or bartending is an advantage but not mandatory. A genuine passion for hospitality and helping others enjoy their dining experience.
