Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and possess a keen interest in food and beverage operations. This role involves supporting daily cafe activities, ensuring a welcoming environment for all patrons, and assisting with food preparation and service. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous, especially barista experience and knowledge of food safety standards. The successful applicant will contribute to creating a positive dining experience and uphold the high standards of our establishment.

Responsibilities

Serve customers promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive experience at all times Assist with food preparation, including basic cooking and presentation tasks Take orders accurately and handle transactions efficiently using the POS system Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and equipment Support with catering functions and special events as required Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels to ensure smooth operation Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless service during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality roles is preferred Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures Barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary A proactive attitude towards learning new skills within the food service industry
