Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting with various tasks in the cafe environment. This position requires a passion for food and hospitality, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting patrons with their orders. Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment. Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items are fresh and presented attractively. Support catering events by setting up and serving food as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly. Adhere to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations. Excellent hospitality skills, demonstrating a friendly and approachable demeanour towards customers. Previous experience in a restaurant or cafe setting, ability barista skills. Basic bartending skills would be beneficial for serving beverages. Ability to assist with cooking services, Proficient in food preparation techniques, ensuring high-quality standards are met. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members.
