We're a bustling coffee shop in the heart of Hastings, known for our warm atmosphere, quality coffee, and outstanding customer service. We're looking for a dedicated and hands-on Assistant Manager to lead our team and continue to deliver the exceptional experience our customers love.

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic

Assistant Manager

to oversee daily operations, inspire our team of 10+ staff, and ensure top-notch customer service. This is a hands-on role where you'll be actively involved in all aspects of the cafe--from making drinks and serving customers to coaching and supporting your team. Key Responsibilities:



Customer Service Excellence:

Be the face of the cafe, greeting customers, taking orders, and ensuring every guest leaves with a smile. Handle any customer inquiries or issues with a friendly, solution-focused approach.

Team Leadership:

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 10+ team members. Schedule shifts, manage daily tasks, and foster a positive work environment where team members can thrive.

Training and Development:

Provide hands-on training for new staff and ongoing development for the team, focusing on customer service, drink quality, and operational efficiency.

Daily Operations:

Oversee daily setup, stock levels, and cleanliness, ensuring everything runs smoothly during service hours.

Quality Control:

Ensure that all food and drink items meet our quality standards. Regularly review product quality, presentation, and hygiene standards.

Minimal Administrative Work:

Handle basic administrative tasks, such as shift scheduling and tracking daily sales, while spending the majority of your time on the cafe floor, engaging with customers and supporting your team.

What We're Looking For:



Experience:

Proven experience in a cafe, restaurant, or coffee shop, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Customer-Focused:

A passion for customer service with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.

Leadership Skills:

Ability to lead by example, motivate a team, and create a positive work environment.

Hands-On Approach:

Willingness to get involved in every aspect of cafe operations, from making drinks to cleaning up.

Organizational Skills:

Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, inventory, and daily operations effectively.

Flexibility:

Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak times as needed.
