Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe services, providing exceptional customer service during our service hours.

The successful candidate ideally will be flexible and will have availability able to work during the opening hours of our cafe, 8/9am-6pm Monday to Sunday.

The cafe provides catering during national tournaments (on site), which means there are peak periods when the site becomes particularly busy. During these times, we rely on our teams flexibility and teamwork to deliver excellent service and meet the increased demand.

There will be potential for additional hours during these busier weeks for the right candidate if they would like them.

Duties

Serving hot food such as panini's, pasta and jacket potatoes. Working the till and handling cash and card payments. Serving cold and hot drinks. Barista experience is ideal. Ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. Provide excellent customer service by attending to customers' needs during their visit, ensuring a memorable experience. Collaborate with other cafe staff to ensure timely service and quality control. Assist with inventory management, including tracking supplies and reporting shortages to management.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a cafe or hospitality environment is preferred. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards. Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work varied shifts throughout the week, including evenings (up to 6pm) and weekends as needed.
