Job Overview

We are small, family run business, seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe, providing exceptional customer service, while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for making amazing coffees and working with children, whilst looking to contribute to a dynamic environment. Please note - This is a key holder position so reliability & punctuality are absolutely essential.

Duties

- Coffee Preparation & serving of food as well as ensuring all items meet quality standards

- High standards of cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, childrens play areas , and kitchen equipment

- Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner.

- High standards of cafe & cleanliness during events

- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the health and safety of customers.

- Handle customer inquiries and provide assistance as needed, ensuring a positive experience.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or cafe with barista training is preferred Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. DBS check is preferred but if you do not already have one, you must be willing to have one done. Experience in barista skills is a plus for our beverage service. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively on your own A friendly disposition with a customer-focused approach to service. Flexibility to work set shifts, including weekends, sickness cover and holidays as required.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21 per hour
