Deeside Community Trust is charity working to help provide community education, vocational training and sport in a new purpose built Community Hub, Ty Calon. We aim to further or benefit the community of Flintshire and neighbouring counties through the advancement of Education and Sport via the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents and community as a whole.
Responsibilities:
Greet guests warmly, take and process orders accurately
Prepare hot (coffee, tea, hot chocolate) and cold beverages
Assist in preparing simple food items (sandwiches, salads, paninis)
Follow food safety and hygiene procedures
Handle cash and card transactions accurately
Keep service areas, equipment, tables and floors clean and well-presented
Manage stock levels--restock supplies, rotate products, check expiry dates
Assist with setting up the cafe at opening and closing-down tasks at end of shift
Work smoothly alongside team members to keep service running efficiently
Train or mentor new staff when required
Experience:
Previous experience in cafe, hospitality or customer service preferred (training available)
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
Excellent communication, multitasking and problem-solving skills
Basic numeracy for handling cash transactions
Friendly, approachable personality with reliable attendance
Ability to stand for long periods and work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Requirements:
Must hold a minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to complete.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.50 per hour
