Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team, working with Volunteers and staff. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth operation within our cafes, providing exceptional service to our customers while maintaining high standards of food safety and preparation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hospitality, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties



Hourly rate : 12.21



Hours of work:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday , 30 hours per week,possible hours will range from 7.30am -2.30pm,

OR

10.30 -4.30, 5 days per week, (days can change daily) extra hours when covered is required for holidays and sickness.

Previous experience in a similar role is preferable though not essential as full training will be provided.

? Duties to include :



Maintaining the safe environment for all the volunteers, fellow staff members and customers.

Preparation and making of fresh rolls, toasties, and other fresh items as required. cleaning and restocking ALL cafes on a daily basis, ensure stock is rotated paying attention to dates daily.

Ensure full knowledge of Natasha's Law - Allergen information.



Assisting Volunteers when required in ALL cafes.

Cashing up of tills and reporting any discrepancies

Restock ALL vending machines daily.

Complete Food Safety records daily.

Understand and promote safe practices as defined in the MVS Food Safety, COVID Safety, Health & Safety, Fire safety, and Risk Assessment Policy.

Follow BCHUB rules and regulations.

To wear correct uniform on shift.

This is a very fast paced position and given situated within a hospital environment, cleanliness and domestic duties are a must. Given the location of our different cafe's, a lot of walking will be involved.

About us: We are a Charity based at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, and run 3 cafes within the hospital, all raised proceeds are used to buy vital medical equipment for the hospital. We have over 50 volunteers and a small team of 5 staff.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Basic culinary skills with an understanding of food preparation techniques. Excellent communication skills with a friendly disposition towards customers and colleagues. Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.
