We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe, providing excellent customer service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and safe environment. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced setting and have a passion for food and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and standards. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the cafe area, including dining spaces and food preparation zones. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times. Provide friendly and efficient service to customers, taking orders and answering queries regarding menu items. Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours. Support team members in various tasks as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment. Perform basic maths calculations for order processing and inventory management.

Requirements

Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy cafe environment. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and an understanding of food safety standards. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues alike. A proactive attitude towards helping others, demonstrating teamwork and flexibility. Previous experience in a cafe or similar environment is advantageous but not essential.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9.30-2.30pm

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour
