Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting in food preparation and service. This position requires a passion for food and beverage, along with excellent customer service skills. Experience in a similar role, with similar experience is a distinct advantage.

Duties

Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards Assist in the daily operations of the cafe, including maintaining cleanliness and organisation Operate coffee machines and other equipment, demonstrating barista skills Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a positive dining experience Handle cash transactions and perform basic math calculations for sales Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours Collaborate with team members to maintain a harmonious work environment

Qualifications & Skillsets

Previous experience in a cafe or similar environment is preferred, particularly in barista roles but not essential Knowledge of food safety practices is preferred, but not essential as full training will be given Strong service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction is a must Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively a distinct advantage A friendly and approachable demeanour, with the ability to work well under pressure
