Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cafe Cook/Manager for our community cafe in beautiful Lochaline. The ideal candidate will possess strong baking and kitchen skills, have a strong work ethic, and have previous cafe experience.

You will be the sole cook for the cafe, providing all baked goods, sandwiches, cooked menu items and Friday Night Dinners.

Accommodation may be available for the right candidate.

Lochaline is an outdoor lover's paradise, with endless access to hikes, ocean sports, fishing, and even a sauna by the loch.

Responsibilities

Daily baking for the cafe including scones, cakes, traybakes Prepare cooked breakfast/lunch items, soup & sandwiches Create seasonal cafe menus Weekly ordering of food, drink, all ingredients General management of the cafe and staff Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety are achieved Promote local crafts and local makers Cater for special events, community lunches etc.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen management within a cafe or restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, meal preparation, and food safety regulations. Previous experience with a focus on customer service and team leadership. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail. Good communication skills to liaise with staff and customers professionally. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a positive attitude towards teamwork. Relevant qualifications in hospitality

Pay: 16.48 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
