We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and customer-focused
Cafe Manager
to lead the daily operations of our busy cafe. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for hospitality, a strong background in cafe or restaurant management, and the ability to inspire and manage a small team. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional service, overseeing operations, and supporting the continued growth of the business through events and promotions.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service Excellence:
Ensure a consistently high standard of customer service, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Operational Management:
Oversee the smooth running of the cafe, with a strong focus on table service operations and daily service flow.
Team Leadership:
Manage and motivate the front-of-house team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
Rota and Scheduling:
Create and manage staff rotas efficiently to meet business needs while maintaining staff satisfaction.
HR & Compliance:
Implement and maintain basic HR processes including onboarding, staff policies, and cleaning schedules.
Financial Administration:
Handle day-to-day financial tasks including processing invoices, managing bills, and running payroll using
Xero
.
Data & Reporting:
Maintain records and manage operational data using
Excel
or
Google Sheets
for stock, sales, and performance reporting.
Events & Promotions:
Plan and promote in-house events, coordinating with the team and external partners to drive footfall and engagement.
Social Media Management:
Manage the cafe's social media presence across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.), creating content and engaging with the community.
Bar & Restaurant Oversight:
Apply your bar or restaurant experience to ensure a high-quality food and beverage offering is consistently delivered.
Key Skills & Experience:
Previous experience managing a cafe or restaurant, ideally with table service operations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proficient with
Excel
or
Google Sheets
for operational reporting.
Experience with
Xero
(bills, invoicing, and payroll).
Understanding of basic HR practices and compliance standards.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures.
Experience managing or creating social media content and running promotions.
Bar/restaurant experience highly desirable.
