Cafe Connect and Silvermere Softplay is a local, family run business which is passionate about bringing wholesome, handcrafted food and bakes, as well as delicious Surrey roasted Coffee to our local community.

Our Dorking Cafe Hatch is partnered with our Cafe and Softplay on Meadowbank bank park, Dorking- with opportunities to train and work across both sites should shifts be available.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced person to work across both sites, mid-week, when cover is needed ad hoc. Out of this may come more consistent opportunities.

The successful applicant is required to be at least 18 for lone working and insurance purposes if they are working at our Sports Centre Hatch. Please only apply for this role if you have thorough experience working in catering/hospitality with food and beverage, and have experience required for a lone working, supervisory role.

Salary:

10.25-12.80 dependent on age and experience

Holiday entitlement:

n/a- holiday pay will be accrued and paid quarterly for any 0 hours shifts worked.

Hours available: various mid week (and weekend if desired) where cover is required or additional hours are put in place during holiday periods.

/Person Spec

Team members will be responsible for successfully running our Hatch Cafe in a lone working capacity, and as part of our team at our softplay and cafe. The role across both sites requires excellent customer service and food and beverage preparation, as well as supporting for opening/closing the cafe, softplay and kitchen, stocktake and rotation, safe food handling, deep cleaning, liaising with management team and directors, as well as peers.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience in customer service and hospitality, and will have basic food preparation and barista experience. Any applications outside of this will unfortunately not be considered. Must have experience working in fast-paced environments and be able to multi-task during busy periods, delivering food/beverage to customers in a polite and timely manner. You will be working with another member of the team, you will be expected to have an excellent team work ethic, a high standard of communication skills, and be self-motivated to be productive in quieter periods.

Reviewing and Updating
This job description should not be considered exhaustive. It will be reviewed on a regular basis and updated in line with the requirements of the role. The post holder will be expected to take a flexible approach to the tasks and initial hours set up during the initial opening phase of this new cafe site, which may be varied until a regular pattern is established.

Confirmation in post subject to successful interview and 2 appropriate references. Following this, staff will undertake a probation period.
