Job Description

Experienced Cake decorator/Pastry Chef required for busy Wedding and Events cake business.

4 or 5 set days per week.

Overtime required in the summer months.

We are looking to add a creative and talented cake decorator to our team creating bespoke wedding cakes and buttercream layer cakes for our high end clients and venues across Scotland.

Flexibility with finish times is essential as we react to the business needs.

Working in a fast paced and fun kitchen the ideal candidate will have;

- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen

-An eye for creative design

- Be happy dealing with customers/answering phones etc.

- Be happy to work quickly and under an element of time pressure

- Stamina to work long days when required

Skills

-cutting, filling + preparing cakes for decoration

-replicating the cakes we have on our website

-buttercream covering + ganaching

-fondant covering

-basic piping skills

- be able to ice and decorate cupcakes

- Driving license would be ideal but not essential as we will also require our decorators to help with deliveries.

Responsibilities

Decorate cakes with artistic designs using various techniques and tools. Prepare and bake cake batters and other pastry items according to recipes. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a clean workspace. Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage food production and meet customer orders. Maintain inventory of baking supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
