Responsibilities

Decorate cakes and baked goods with intricate designs, themes, and personalized touches using various piping techniques, fondant, and other decorative tools Prepare and assemble cakes according to recipes and customer specifications, ensuring consistency in presentation and taste Package finished products securely for delivery or display, maintaining their visual appeal and freshness Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station, adhering to food safety standards at all times Assist in food preparation tasks related to baking, frosting, and garnishing as needed in a fast-paced kitchen environment Provide excellent customer service by discussing customization options, offering product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction Follow all food handling protocols and safety regulations to uphold hygiene standards across the bakery or culinary workspace

Qualifications

Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or a related culinary field with a strong portfolio of decorated baked goods Knowledge of food industry best practices including food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures Skilled in baking, food preparation, and culinary techniques with an emphasis on pastry arts and cake design Strong knife skills for precise trimming and shaping of cakes and decorations Excellent attention to detail with an eye for aesthetics and presentation Previous experience working in a bakery, restaurant, catering service or similar food industry environment is preferred Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness
