Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated campervan conversion technician to join our team at Tartan Campers HQ in Dundonald, Ayrshire. We are incredibly proud to be one of Scotland's most well known and respected conversion businesses with an amazing reputation for quality workmanship, and due to our ongoing success we are looking to add an additional team member to our staff.

Working within our workshop our new conversion technician will work as part of our existing team to convert mainly VW Transporters. The role is diverse and includes 12/240v electrical installation, cabinetry and joinery work, coachworks and some gas installation. Although you need not have experience in all areas you must, as a minimum, be a

skilled kitchen fitter/joiner or simliar

. This role may therefore be of paricular interest to eg skilled kitchen fitters/joiners or persons with all trades experience.

You should be comfortable in the following areas:

- Assemble and install wooden components according to specifications
- Measure, cut, shape, and smooth wood using power tools
- Install hardware such as hinges, handles, and locks
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects

Skills:
- Proficient in heavy lifting to handle large wooden pieces
- Ability to assemble and disassemble wooden structures
- Basic electrical skills for wiring and installation of fixtures
- Understanding of plumbing and gas cooker systems for installation or repair work
- Ability to fabricate custom pieces based on design specifications
- Proficient in carpentry techniques and joinery methods
- Competency in using power tools for cutting, shaping, and drilling wood

Experience of campervan conversion is preferred but not essential.

We operate in a fast-paced environment with 3-4 vehicles in production at any one time. Teamwork, punctuality and a positive work ethic are therefore essential to our culture. You must demonstrate high standards of finish at all times.

Hours: 37.5 per week

Working days: Mon to Thurs 8am - 4.30pm, Friday 8am - 2pm

Holidays: 28 days including bank holidays

Bonus: Monthly
