Job Description

Heckfield Place is a beautifully restored hotel on a 400-acre farm in the county of Hampshire, just outside of London. The kitchen sources some of its produce from our biodynamic market garden on site, and chefs take regular tours of the farm to draw inspiration from what they see growing.


The kitchen is currently looking for a

Canteen Chef

to join our dynamic kitchen. Most of our dishes are created to showcase the produce from the farm.


We are looking for a person that is interested in healthy food offerings, utilising the farm as much as possible with limited items bought in. Reduced food waste and the creativity using any spent items from the two restaurants.

Position responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

To prepare the staff canteen area for service and maintain the cleanliness of the canteen Be able to plan, cook and create menus for the staff canteen To prepare the service area, hot cupboards and other equipment at the point of service for the efficient and effective service of the staff meals To clean daily all recognized catering areas to the company's agreed standards Have good knowledge of Allergens and understand and complete all due diligence To undergo any on and off-site training sessions as required by the company Any duties as required to ensure that the staff canteen area and kitchen are in a clean, hygienic and safe condition and that the food service is effective and efficient To occasionally be required to assist the chef in basic kitchen food preparation Minimize food wastage and respond pro-actively to staff feedback Be able to work some weekends

Basic salary of 30817.50
