We are looking for a Carbon Manager to join our Infrastructure team based on the Lower Thames Crossing Project in Essex. The Carbon Manager -LTC Project is a senior position within the project organisation, it will focus on climate change, carbon emissions, resource efficiency In accordance with PAS 2080 and the Skanska Carbon Management (CMS) Systems and will report into the Carbon Lead - LTC Project and work closely alongside the Delivery & Operational Teams



What you'll do:





Support the Carbon Lead - LTC Project in the implementation of the carbon management process, that ensures the ongoing contractual needs of the Design, Construction and hand back phases are met Active contribution to the LTC Carbon and Project Strategy and challenges the carbon target where there is potential for greater carbon reduction, Supports coordination of carbon reduction efforts across the different project delivery areas Establishes coordination and leadership, together with Programme Director and senior management on Carbon matters Encourage collaboration between work areas, supply chain, and other Main Works contracts to ultimately to maintain consistency. Using feedback from value chain members to improve business processes to drive low carbon solutions


What you'll bring to the role:





Background in engineering, science or environmental studies. Set up & delivery of carbon management programmes. Carbon management experience in the construction industry on large infrastructure projects or equivalent, comparable industry/projects. Experience in wider sustainability topics including climate change, circular economy and material efficiency as well as knowledge of sustainable materials and technology would be advantageous Experience in carbon accounting and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), preferably for the construction industry Acumen of climate change and wider sustainability topics: decarbonisation over the life cycle of projects, resource efficiency, circular economy, design for durability, deconstruction and re-use, renewable energy & alternative fuels, sustainable solutions etc. in the context of construction Experience in working effectively within a multidisciplinary team, taking a collaborative approach
