Main purpose of the role
On a daily basis, assist the nurse(s) in meeting resident's physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs and deliver excellent standards of care which promote privacy and dignity, whilst enhancing independence, rehabilitation and personal choice.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. To provide special experiences to residents, which promote choice and independence that make a positive difference to their daily lives.
2. Achieve the highest possible standards of care in all daily living activities to enhance the resident experience by ensuring individual needs are met in accordance with company policy and individual care plans, including but not limited to assisting with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing and continence management
3. Ensured planned care is delivered and evaluated in collaboration with residents, their family and internal and external stakeholders.
4. Undertake clinical tasks to include: physical observations, urinalysis, skin inspection, aseptic technique including simple wound dressings, blood glucose monitoring and PEG Care and administration of feed
5. Supports the nurse(s) in the supervision of staff to ensure that shifts run smoothly and documentation is completed accurately.
6. Assist the nurse(s) in the completion of colleague supervisions.
7. Assisting the nurse(s) with nutritional reviews, social work reviews and assessment of new residents.
8. Assists in the admission, transfer and discharge of residents
9. Undertake designated aspects of medicine management in line with legal and company policy
10. Undertakes appropriate activities to contribute to the development of self and other staff using for example, coaching and mentoring techniques
11. Accurately record and communicate to senior care colleagues, key observations and findings whilst respecting resident confidentiality. Act as a Key Worker to designated residents; obtaining a sound knowledge of the Resident's life history, routines, personality and physical health.
12. Accompany residents to hospital and other professional visits as required.
13. Assists in keeping the care environment clean, tidy and hazard free.
14. Report changes or concerns immediately to senior colleagues and complete relevant appropriate documentation
15. Support and promote social activities, encouraging resident participation and inclusion as appropriate

you will be supporting the care team in delivering quality personal care to each of our residents.
General Responsibilities
+ To be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others whilst at work, including colleagues, residents and visitors to the Home and for alerting the officers responsible to any hazards or potential risks to health and safety.
+ To be fully conversant with the Beaumont policies relating to Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Whistleblowing.
+ To ensure compliance with the Beaumont Information Governance Policy, maintaining an appropriate level of confidentiality around issues that may be personal or commercially sensitive.
+ Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships both with colleagues, residents, visitors and other health professionals and agencies.
+ To act as an ambassador for the Beaumont company Vision and Values.
+ To promote equality and diversity at all times and across all work activities.
+ To adhere to Beaumont policies and procedures.
+ Attend mandatory training days / courses, on or off site, as and when required
+ To undertake any other duties and accountabilities which would be lawful, reasonable and appropriate to the role.
Required Criteria
Registered on the NISCC Live Register
Experience in Care of the elderly is essential
Must have experience as a care assistant
Possess an NVQ 2 Health and Social Care
Have a medical dispensing qualification
