Meal planning, preparing and cooking of breakfast and lunches, following a four-weekly menu of home-cooked meals. You will also be preparing light evening meals.
Knowledge, understanding and provision of dietary requirements of the residents
Maintaining a high standard of food hygiene. We have a 5 rating for the environmental hygiene, which is required to be maintained.
Ensuring the kitchen and facilities/equipment is cleaned daily to a high standard.
Basic ordering, food storage and stock rotation. There should be emphasis on a "no wastage" policy of food at the same time feeding the residents well.
Maintaining required records on cleaning schedules, temperature probing and fridge temperatures.
Keep the kitchen organised so that it works to best practice and regulations.
The Role
The role enjoys a certain amount of flexibility and freedom and will allow the correct candidate to demonstrate creativity. You will be able to have an input in menu planning and you will also be creating foods that the residents enjoy, ensuring that the menu is nutritious and healthy.
