We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a care home cook . This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in food preparation and cooking, who enjoys working in a dynamic kitchen environment. The care home cook will play a vital role in ensuring that meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our residents.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, cooking, and plating dishes according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored. Follow food safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the health and safety of both staff and residents. Collaborate with other staff to ensure efficient meal service during busy periods. Monitor food inventory levels, assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages or issues to management. Participate in menu planning and development by providing feedback on dishes based on residents preferences and seasonal ingredients.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment. Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques and styles. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations, ensuring compliance at all times. Ability to work well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.
