We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our care home team. You will support the smooth running of the kitchen, helping to prepare nutritious meals and maintain high standards of hygiene. Your work will directly contribute to the health and wellbeing of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as chopping, peeling, and portioning
Help serve meals to residents, ensuring dietary needs are met
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and keep kitchen areas clean and tidy
Assist with storing deliveries, rotating stock, and reporting shortages
Follow food hygiene regulations and care home policies
Work closely with chefs, carers, and other staff to provide excellent service
Requirements
Previous kitchen or catering experience preferred, but training can be provided
Basic food preparation, cleaning, and organizational skills
Reliable, friendly, and able to work well in a team
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate desirable)
