Job Purpose
As a Care Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care services to residents, overseeing and supporting the care team to maintain the highest standards of care. You will be responsible for supervising day-to-day care operations, ensuring that all care plans are followed, and offering guidance and support to care assistants. You will be instrumental in maintaining a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for both residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support a team of Care Assistants to ensure the highest standard of care is provided to residents.
Assist in the development, implementation, and review of care plans for residents, ensuring they are person-centred and up-to-date.
Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to, and that a safe and comfortable environment is maintained.
Provide support and guidance to care staff, ensuring appropriate training and development is provided to maintain high standards of care.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, in line with care plans and regulatory requirements.
Respond to emergencies and incidents in a calm and effective manner, providing first aid if necessary.
Assist in monitoring and evaluating residents' well-being, reporting any changes in their condition to senior staff and families where required.
Ensure that care records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Foster a positive team atmosphere and work collaboratively with other team members, management, and external agencies.
Promote and maintain residents' dignity, independence, and choice at all times.
Lead by example and support the training of new staff, ensuring all team members understand and implement policies and procedures.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in a care role, preferably in a supervisory or leadership capacity within a care home environment.
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
Medication administration experience.
A good understanding of care planning, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team.
A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care, with a focus on enhancing residents' well-being.
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
A willingness to participate in continuous professional development (CPD) and training.
