Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role is essential in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia care.

Duties

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

Providing personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities. Administering medication as prescribed and ensuring proper documentation. Assisting with meal preparation and dietary needs to promote healthy eating habits. Supporting clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary. Engaging in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours. Offering companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care principles. Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion and empathy towards clients' needs. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks when assisting clients with mobility challenges. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members. A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
