The Role: Complex Care Support Worker.

Hourly Rate: 13.00 per hour.

Shift Pattern:

We are currently recruiting for 1 package in Swadlincote.

Please note, we provide 24 hour around the clock care so they will mainly include 12 hour shifts and will include days, waking nights and alternative

weekends.

Contract Type:

Permanent with immediate start available. We offer the below contracts:

Part time - 20 Hour Contract*
Bank - 0 Hours Contract*

DBS: DBS preferred.

Driver with access to a vehicle: Preferred

Our team of skilled professionals offers around-the-clock specialised care for people with spinal cord injuries and other complex needs, and we are now looking for like-minded professionals to join us in providing top-quality care that truly makes a difference. It's important to note that we recruit with a person-centred approach, meaning successful candidates will primarily work on one of our packages based in a single location. However, there is also the potential to work across various packages within the area.

The People in Swadlincote:

Package 1:

Providing compassionate care to a young boy with Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome, a rare genetic condition. You will build a rapport with him through his unique means of communication. This role involves working 5 days a week, with hours from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. He loves to watch Strictly Come Dancing and attending school.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored care to individuals with epilepsy, supporting seizure management, medication administration, and following care plans. Support individuals with challenging behaviours, using positive behaviour support (PBS) techniques and de-escalation strategies to ensure safety and wellbeing. Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues to deliver person-centred care. Encourage and support engagement in social and daily activities, helping individuals increase their independence and quality of life. Maintain accurate care records, report on progress, and help adjust care plans as needed.

Key Skills and Experience:

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and compassionate in high-pressure situations. Flexibility and adaptability, willing to work a mix of days, nights, and alternate weekends. A positive, empathetic approach to working with vulnerable individuals. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is an advantage but not essential.

Training:

At Josh's Care Company, we are dedicated to equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become compliant in all areas of specialised care, from tracheostomy and ventilator management to postural and respiratory care, as well as PEG feeding. Rest assured that you will be in the capable hands of our skilled and experienced nursing team at Josh's Care Company. Our nurses have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of nursing and care which will ensure that you receive the highest standard of training and support possible.
We are seeking highly motivated professionals with a caring demeanour, excellent communication skills, and previous care experience, with knowledge of complex care being an added advantage. A positive attitude and friendly nature are essential attributes for this role, as you will be providing meaningful support and encouragement to enhance our people's quality of life.
