About Us

Stradey Park Care Home is a well-established residential care home for adults with learning disabilities and special needs. Located in the heart of Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, our home has been providing high-quality care for 32 years. We employ a dedicated team of 12 staff members and accommodate up to eight residents in a stable and supportive environment. We pride ourselves on ensuring a safe, welcoming, and homely atmosphere while delivering the highest standard of care.

Our mission is to provide outstanding care while fostering a positive and rewarding workplace for our staff. We do not accommodate residents with challenging behaviour, allowing us to maintain a structured and harmonious environment.

The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and compassionate

Care Support Worker

to support our residents with learning disabilities, mental health problems and physical disabilities. You will be expected to provide high quality care to ensure that residents lead a dignified, happy and fulfilled life. You will need to be flexible and work as required to cover shifts at short notice during periods of staff absences and sickness.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively work under the guidance of the Registered Manager, taking responsibility for the

physical

and

emotional care

of the residents. Assist residents with

personal care

activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and feeding/meals. Dispense

medication

and understand resident specific health conditions. Participate in

recreational

and

social activities

with residents to provide physical and mental stimulation. Maintain accurate

record keeping

, undertake ongoing

training

and support the training of new staff members. Promote the independence, choice, dignity and respect of all residents by providing the very best standard of care. Flexible to accommodate changes to the rota and provide shift cover to ensure sufficient coverage at all times. Participate in general

household duties

such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, etc.

Essential Requirements

Excellent

communication skills

and the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team. A commitment to maintaining a

supportive and inclusive

environment for both residents and staff. A respectful, courteous and compassionate nature and a willingness to undertake any aspects of care or non-care duties. A

relevant qualification

, such as

QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care

or equivalent or committed to completing this within your first 3 years of employment.
