We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for those in your care through support with daily activities and personal care.
Duties
Support service users with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, cleaning, and managing medication.
Promote independence by encouraging and enabling service users to make their own choices and decisions.
Support individuals in developing life skills such as budgeting, cooking, shopping, and attending appointments.
Encourage participation in social, educational, and leisure activities, both in-house and in the community.
Maintain clear, accurate records including care plans, daily logs, incident reports, and medication charts.
Ensure the physical and emotional wellbeing of service users by observing, reporting, and acting on changes in their needs.
Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other external agencies.
Comply with all safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality regulations.
Participate in regular training and supervision, and contribute to team meetings.
Requirements
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is highly desirable.
Certification in First Aid is preferred to ensure safety during care provision.
Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for providing care and support.
Knowledge of meal preparation techniques suitable for various dietary requirements.
Experience in childcare or hospice care is an advantage but not mandatory.
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting client dignity at all times.
