Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team in Edinburgh and Fife Locations. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. This role is crucial in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients. As a Care Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while fostering a supportive and positive environment.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs Assist with heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety protocols are followed Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or manager Engage in light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed

Experience

Candidates should possess experience in caregiving roles, particularly within assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. Familiarity with specialised areas such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care is highly desirable. Additional skills that will benefit applicants include:

First aid certification Experience in childcare (if applicable) 1 year UK care experience SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Scotland) (or equivalent) Maintaining clean, safe living spaces Basic healthcare knowledge (e.g. medication prompting, mobility support) Medication awareness First Aid Experience within manual handling Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
