Children's Support Workers

for a solo residential placement in Reading. In this deeply meaningful role, you'll work closely with one young person, offering the structure, consistency, and therapeutic care they need to begin healing, growing, and trusting again.

Your Role



As a Children's Support Worker, you'll provide hands-on, relationship-based care to a young person with complex emotional and behavioural needs. This is not just about support--it's about connection, stability, and helping to build a better future, one day at a time.

Key Responsibilities



Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships rooted in empathy and respect Promote healthy routines, emotional regulation, and independent life skills Support with daily living tasks such as cooking, personal care, and household responsibilities Maintain a calm, consistent, and therapeutic environment Contribute to personalised care plans and act as a key worker Collaborate with colleagues and professionals to provide cohesive support Participate in training, development, and reflective practice to enhance care delivery

What We're Looking For



You'll bring professional experience and personal resilience, along with a genuine commitment to child-centred care.

Essential:



Experience working with children or young people in care, education, or support settings A calm, emotionally grounded approach to managing complex behaviours A clear understanding of boundaries, with the warmth and empathy to build trust Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills Willingness to work a rota that includes evenings and weekends

Desirable:



Familiarity with trauma-informed care or therapeutic approaches Relevant training or qualifications in childcare, support work, or youth services
