We are seeking a patient, compassionate, empathetic and dedicated caregiver to support our elderly parents in their own home. You will provide essential support with daily living activities for 2 to 3 hours per day Monday to Friday. Your primary focus will be on checking in on them, monitoring their health status, providing support to them to stay as independent as possible for as long as possible, providing company and companionship and keeping on top of their housework. We require a reliable person who is flexible and will consider increasing their hours as my parents needs may increase over time.
Duties
Supporting with mobility and physical activities to promote independence.
Monitoring blood pressure and ensuing medicines are being taken as required
Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance mental well-being.
Monitoring health status and reporting any changes to family members
Offering specialised support for my mother who has dementia
Routine house work and cleaning
Currently my parents can manage personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, however in time support is likely to be required.
Currently my parents make their own meals, but in time they may need support in this area too.

Requirements
Previous experience as a carer is required
A solid understanding of patient care practices and first aid procedures.
Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary needs.
Experience in providing dementia care is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with my parents and our family
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
Flexibility, patience and a thick skin!
