Welcome to Orchards Infant School and Little Orchards Nursery. Everyone at Orchards is dedicated to 'Being the best we can be ...not in the world but for the world'. We aim to create a safe, happy and caring environment where every child is valued and respected as an individual. We are very proud of the school and welcome visitors.



We are a Community Infant and Nursery School for children aged 3 to 7. We also have a Special Support Centre for children who have an education and health care plan, where their primary need is speech and language.



Our expectation of children is high. We aim for all children to make excellent progress. We want all children to leave us as confident readers, writers and mathematicians. We are proud of our dedicated staff team who are there to educate and nurture our children. We work in very close partnership with parents and carers to support, recognise and celebrate all achievements.



We want all children to gain skills, which enable them to become citizens of the future and to lead confident, healthy and independent lives, making a valued and positive contribution to society.



Learning at Orchards is underpinned by an exciting curriculum, designed to deliver academic excellence and enrichment. Job Details

Salary: Grade 4 actual salary 8,634.72

Contract Type: 1 Year Fixed Term

Working Pattern: 15 hours per week (usual pattern, 7am - 10am Monday to Friday)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Caretaker/Handyperson to join our positive and hardworking team. What You Need to Succeed

The successful candidate will be required to:


Ensure that the learning environment within the school is maintained to a very high standard To assist in all Health and Safety and Security around the school site. Checking electrical, heating, water and fire systems Liaise with external contractors to ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements
