We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Compound Receiver to join our team in Southampton. This is a replacement role following a recent departure, and it's a great opportunity to join a close-knit team working across three berths on site.
As a Compound Receiver, you'll play a key role in the smooth running of our port operations. You'll be the first point of contact for incoming units, ensuring cargo is received, measured, and booked in accurately. You'll also support with lashing duties and vehicle movements across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and book in cargo, including measuring and recording details
Conduct regular walkarounds of the compounds
Drive between berths as needed (full training provided)
Support with lashing operations when required
Operate plant machinery such as forklifts and tugs (in-house training provided)
What We're Looking For
Full UK Driving Licence - essential
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Basic IT skills
A practical, hands-on approach
Willingness to work outdoors and across different areas of the port
Working Hours
Flexible shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM
8-hour workday with a 30-minute break
Monday to Friday schedule
Occasional weekend work required once fully trained
