The Branch is seeking a reliable and compassionate
Casual Animal Care Driver
to support our animal welfare operations. This role involves transporting animals safely and assisting with their care during transit. It's ideal for someone passionate about animal welfare, with a flexible schedule and a commitment to responsible driving.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport animals between shelters, clinics, foster homes, and adoption centres
Ensure the welfare and comfort of animals during transportation
Assist with handling, loading, and unloading animals
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and transport crates
Complete basic animal care tasks as needed (e.g. feeding, monitoring behaviour)
Keep accurate transport records and follow all safety procedures
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Over the age of 22 year for the branches insurance cover and been driving 4 years
Experience handling animals (professional or volunteer) preferred
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings as needed
Good physical fitness - ability to lift and carry crates/cages
Calm, patient, and confident around animals of various sizes and temperaments
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
Animal care qualification or background
First aid for animals 'certification
Knowledge of animal welfare legislation and transport standards
