Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver Assistant to support our delivery operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of teamwork and be committed to providing exceptional service. This role involves assisting the driver in various tasks related to the transportation and delivery of goods, ensuring that all deliveries are completed efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

Assist the driver in loading and unloading goods from the vehicle, ensuring safe handling of products. Help navigate routes and communicate with the driver to ensure timely deliveries. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle, ensuring all equipment is in good working order. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns professionally. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and stock replenishment. Utilise mechanical knowledge to identify minor repairs or maintenance needs on the vehicle.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly desirable. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices is essential. Experience with flatbed vehicles is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers. Mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks. Prior warehouse experience will be considered an asset. A valid driving licence is required; additional qualifications for commercial driving will be beneficial.
