Job Introduction

Museums Worcestershire is the joint museums service of Worcester City and Worcestershire County Councils. We are looking for Casual Marketing Assistants to support our busy Audiences team working across the three museums. If you are an enthusiastic and reliable individual who is passionate about increasing awareness of museums and encouraging people to visit, we'd love to hear from you.


You will be supporting the delivery of digital marketing including social media, website and email marketing; copywriting and proofreading; database management, ticket sales and audience research.


Please note, this is a casual position and therefore hours are not guaranteed. You may be called upon to support specific projects and activities. Hours will vary according to the project.

Key Requirements:

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills that demonstrate a keen attention to detail.


You will be confident in communicating with a diverse range of people


You will be IT literate with knowledge of databases and ticketing systems


You will have a strong understanding of social media, with experience of using key platforms to reach target audiences


You will be able to work well in a team and have a flexible approach to daily demands.


You will have the flexibility to work at short notice, or in short bursts of activity over a given period of time

Skills & Experience:

Experience of working in a marketing role (professional or voluntary)


Experience of working with a website content management system


Experience of working with a CRM/ticketing system


Experience of writing effective copy for different audiences and media


Comfortable working as part of a team and independently


Well organised, able to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines


Experience of working in a museum, tourism or heritage environment
