Are you energetic, enthusiastic, hardworking and caring? We are looking for someone to join our busy catering team at St Barnabas Hospice.
Preparing breakfasts and then working on a weekly rota system between our main kitchen, in-patient unit and coffee shop, you will need to be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Main duties will include preparing and serving breakfasts for our patients; laying up trays, collecting returns from patients' rooms, water and drinks round for the patients, liaising with our nursing team regarding patients' meal requirements; salad and sandwich preparation, vegetable preparation, replenishing stock; opening, serving on and closing-down the coffee shop, filling vending machines; washing-up and cleaning work areas.
There are daily and weekly cleaning duties that you will need to complete on shift.
Previous experience of working in a care environment and/or an understanding of food handling and hygiene regulations would be preferred
Previous catering experience would be an advantage.
You will need to have a flexible, team-orientated approach and must be comfortable working in the hospice setting, working in the ward areas and going into our patients' rooms.
You will, on occasion, be asked to work additional hours to cover annual leave or sickness
You will be required to work a share of Bank Holidays, including over the Christmas period. Enhancements will be paid for weekend and Bank Holiday shifts.
