Job Description

Are you a whizz in the kitchen with a knack for creating delicious sandwiches, and do you enjoy hitting the road? We're looking for a friendly, reliable, and organised individual to join our team as a Sandwich Maker & Delivery Driver. In this dual role, you'll be responsible for preparing a variety of fresh sandwiches, corporate lunches and other grab-and-go items, then loading up our sandwich van and delivering them to our hungry customers around Winchester.

We're looking for a confident, professional, and self-motivated individual with a huge personality to join our established team as leaders in the field of sandwich delivery to well established clients in the Winchester area.

This is not a multi-drop/manufacturer/LGV delivery driving job.

Each morning, starting at 7AM, you'll be the architect of our mobile feast! Your day begins by expertly preparing and meticulously loading your van with an enticing array of fresh hot and cold food items. From there, you'll embark on your established delivery route, serving our valued customers. Beyond maintaining existing sales, your initiative will be key in expanding our customer base, growing the route, and ultimately maximising daily business. Throughout your shift, you'll be responsible for ensuring the constant safety of your vehicle and maintaining impeccable cleanliness and tidiness of all serving areas.

Key Responsibilities:



Sandwich Preparation & Kitchen Duties:



Prepare a wide range of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other cold food items according to established recipes and customer specifications, ensuring high quality and consistency.

Handle and prepare ingredients including meats, cheeses, vegetables, and breads, ensuring proper rotation and storage to minimise waste.

Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP principles, COSHH regulations) at all times, including proper temperature control, cross-contamination prevention, and sanitation of all work surfaces and equipment. Full training will be given.

Monitor and manage ingredient stock levels, reporting shortages and assisting with inventory counts and ordering as needed.

Ensure all food is presented attractively and packaged appropriately for transport.

Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment and work areas at the end of each shift, maintaining a tidy and organised workspace.

Delivery & Customer Service:



Load the sandwich van efficiently and safely with prepared food items, drinks, and snacks, ensuring accuracy of orders.

Safely drive the delivery van along designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and company driving policies.

Deliver orders to customers in a timely and friendly manner, providing excellent customer service.

Handle cash and card payments accurately, processing transactions and providing correct change where necessary.

Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining a positive and approachable demeanour.

Report any vehicle maintenance issues or delivery problems promptly to management.

Maintain cleanliness of the delivery van on a daily basis.

Skills & Qualifications:



Over 25 for insurance reasons

Proven experience in food preparation

, ideally in a fast-paced kitchen, deli, or catering environment. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Valid UK driving licence

with a clean driving record.

Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations

(e.g., Level 2 Food Safety certificate is a bonus).

Strong attention to detail

for both food preparation and order accuracy.

Reliable and punctual

with a strong work ethic.

Good communication and interpersonal skills

for engaging with customers.

Ability to work independently

and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.

Physically fit

and able to lift and carry delivery crates/boxes as needed.

Basic maths skills

for handling payments.

Familiarity with the Winchester area

would be advantageous.

Work Schedule, Salary and Benefits



Monday to Friday 8am - 1pm

13.00 per hour and paid weekly
