We are looking for a full time Catering Manager to lead our kitchen team at Berwick Garden Centre, Kingfisher Restaurant. Our restaurant is a crucial part of what makes our centre special; through providing great food and beverage offerings, we enhance the overall experience of our visitors.

We have up to 200 covers including an upstairs facility and a heated outdoor seating area. We are constantly looking to develop new offerings to our customers on site, ideas and developments for which you could help us develop.

Our opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm and 10am - 4.30pm on Sundays.

The Role

This is a permanent role 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7. Remuneration dependant on experience. Weekend work is expected.

The candidate will lead a team of front of house and kitchen staff to ensure we continually provide and maintain the highest levels of service and produce to both our loyal and new customers. It will be essential to work together with the garden centre management team as well as working independently and coordinating the needs of your own catering team.

Daily tasks range from; reviewing menus to adapting to and managing seasonal changes and special events; maintaining high standards of service, production and produce to planning rotas and providing top quality, homemade produce for sale at our farm shops.

To meet the high demands and pace of work, we require a great team-player who is a good time-keeper, motivator and understands great service. The company is continuously developing and adjusting to the needs of our customers; to compliment this we hope to find someone who thinks out-the-box, follows through to completion on tasks and projects and is committed to drive us forward.

This senior position would bring you into the wider management team and have you report to the centre manager.

The Candidate

Strong management skills and experience (min 3 years) Experience with budgets Costings Stock management Staff management Catering and customer service experience Great leadership qualities Good problem-solving skills Ability to take on and manage responsibilities Ability to: Hold good record keeping practices, Be accountable for COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, legal regulations, environmental policies and duty of care to customer and colleagues. Uphold the kitchens food safety and hygiene protocols (including allergens) Either have or be willing to achieve Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene certification.
