We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Manager to oversee our catering operations at Chilton Trinity School, Bridgwater. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, along with exceptional leadership and team management skills. This role requires a passion for hospitality and an ability to create memorable dining experiences for our clients. The Catering Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the catering operations at Chilton Trinity, and local transportation schools ensuring high standards of food safety and quality are maintained.
Hours of work
7am-3.00pm on a pro rota term time only basis. Additional hours for training and cleaning days may be required.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute catering events, including menu selection and food preparation
Supervise kitchen staff and ensure efficient food production processes
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with regulations
Have a flexible approach
Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences for events
Train and mentor team members in culinary techniques and service excellence
Oversee the presentation of food to ensure it meets aesthetic standards
Address any issues or concerns that arise during events promptly and professionally
Holds a clean drivers licence, may be required to drive company vehicles
Skills
Strong food preparation and cooking skills
Proven supervising experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment
Excellent team management abilities with a focus on leadership
Background in hospitality with experience in catering or event planning
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Culinary experience with a passion for serving quality dishes
Familiarity with kitchen operations, including food production techniques
Experience in hotel or barista settings is advantageous
