Glasshouse College reflects the history of the Stourbridge glassmaking district. The local traditions of glassblowing, etching and engraving provide a rich stimulus for the college's signature craft. Our students also attend other craft workshops including green woodwork, blacksmithing and textiles. Glasshouse College is part of Ruskin Mill Trust.



Established in 1984, Ruskin Mill Trust is an educational charity that operates in England, Scotland and Wales. We offer exciting outdoor learning environments, utilising practical land and craft activities to support the development of work and life skills in young people with autistic spectrum conditions and other learning differences. Our research-led method, Practical Skills Therapeutic Education, is inspired by the work of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris. Working with hand, head, heart and place, Ruskin Mill Trust helps individuals to re-imagine their potential.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tutor, Catering role at Glasshouse College, a provision located in Wollaston, Stourbridge which specialises in delivering a unique and innovative Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) curriculum to advance the opportunities of young people with complex needs including Autistic Spectrum Conditions.

Each core element of the educational cycle is designed to establish active and positive relationships with nature and the community through a holistic approach to human development. This supports three key stages: overcoming barriers to learning; becoming skilled and being ready to engage and give back to the community.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

The planning and delivery of catering sessions to a small group of students using fresh organic and biodynamic produce sourced from Ruskin Mill Trust's farms and gardens and other agreed organic suppliers Work with the catering team to provide fresh organic lunches to the whole college community on a daily basis Equip students with valuable catering skills for life after college and the world of work.
In this role you will:

Deliver high quality practical skills, teaching and training to students of mixed abilities within the agreed Quality Assurance framework of the Trust. Deliver qualifications in line with student pathways. You will also be responsible for embedding communication, word and number into all catering sessions with students. You must be able to instil enthusiasm and enjoyment into the learning journey of our students in such a way that can lead to increased self-esteem and enhanced engagement in developing valuable life skills. Applicants for this role will ideally hold or be working towards a

recognised teaching qualification

coupled with experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and possess a high degree of personal resilience, emotional and social intelligence.
