We are seeking a Chef of all positions to join our small team. The ideal candidate will have extensive kitchen experience and the ability to be flexible working grill, prep and pass. As a Chef, you will be responsible for looking after your section, including prep and service, communicating with the team to ensure par levels are correct, labelling and stock rotation are up to date and ensuring that all food safety standards are met.
We are a fresh prep kitchen with a focus on traditional British fare and some weird and wonderful specials. Creativity, consistency and attention to detail are essential. As a small independent pub, with an experienced team and seasonal menu, the ideal candidate would be confident in classic skills and techniques, cooking from scratch and bringing fresh ideas to the table, to help with menu development and specials.
Duties
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Share guidance and training to enhance other staff's culinary skills.
Manage food inventory, minimising and recording waste.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
Develop new menu items and seasonal specials to keep the offerings fresh and exciting.
Re imagine classics to take advantage of local, seasonal British produce.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen environment.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Organisation and fore site to know when items are selling well and will need replenishing, or to ease back on over prep for items that may not sell as well due to weather or other factors.
Level 2 food hygiene is expected but we will provide online and in person training onsite with the ability to take further courses as needed.
A background in pastry/desserts would be helpful but not essential.
Personal transport would be preferable. We are a little out of the way, and travel to and from on public transport may be difficult.

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour
