Job Overview

Peter Baldwin Construction Ltd is a family run construction company based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire established in 1987. Due to continued growth we are looking to employ a Class 1 (C+E) driver/ yard operative to join our team. In this role you will look to carry out all of our companies in house haulage needs utilising our 32t hookloader and 7.5t tipper with plant trailer. When not busy driving you will be responsible for keeping the yard in a tidy and organised state and helping out where needed.

Experience of transporting plant and machinery is essential as is the ability to load and unload your lorry utilising our forklifts and telehandlers. The successful applicant will report to the transport manager, aspects of the job role are listed below.

Duties

Loading and unloading various plant machinery, construction supplies and skips. Ensuring all goods are secured safely and delivered efficiently. Complete daily vehicle checks and carrying out minor maintenance. Comply with HGV driving rules and regulations. Ensuring the vehicles are kept in a good condition. Ensuring all materials are put back in the correct places and maintaining a tidy organised yard.

Requirements

You must hold an HGV class 1 (C+E) licence and an in date drivers CPC card. You must have a valid in date digital drivers card (tacho) Experienced in safely transporting and delivering plant machinery. A demonstrable understanding of HGV vehicle safety and upkeep. Be able to load and unload your vehicle either by hand or utilising one of our forklifts or telehandlers (experience preferred but full training can be given).

Schedule

Monday-Friday 7:00-16:30 with 9hrs paid per day. Overtime paid after 39 hours at 1.5X pay.

No nights out or weekend work required.
