The Company

R.G.H. Supplies LTD is an independent supplier of fencing and agricultural products based in Rudgwick, West Sussex. We have been operating since 2002 and have grown the business through that time leading to this new role.

The Role:

We have created a new vacancy and are looking for a reliable and hardworking

HGV Driver/Yard Operative

to join our team.

This dual-role position involves:

Delivering domestic and agricultural fencing as well as many agricultural products

Delivering goods to customers using an HGV vehicle, often off-loading with a piggyback forklift

Assisting with general yard duties such as loading/unloading vehicles, picking for future upcoming deliveries/collections, organising stock, and maintaining a safe and tidy yard.

Key Responsibilities:

As HGV Driver:

Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently for deliveries and collections. Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to trade and domestic customers. Conduct vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle and forklift is roadworthy and compliant. Operate Forklift safely and efficiently for deliveries and collections. Maintain delivery documentation and report any discrepancies or issues. Represent the company professionally at all times, ensuring excellent customer service.

As Yard Operative:

Load and unload deliveries using forklifts or other equipment as required. Check and store incoming goods, ensuring quality and accuracy. Pick, pack, and prepare orders for collection or delivery. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment. Follow health & safety procedures and report any hazards or incidents. Assist customers in the yard in a helpful and professional manner.
Conduct forklift checks and ensure the forklift is compliant.

Requirements:

Valid HGV Class 2 UK licence held for at least 5 years Current and valid CPC and medical Forklift licence preferred; experience essential Previous experience in a timber yard or similar industry is beneficial. Excellent timekeeping and communication skills. Strong focus on safety, teamwork and customer service.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 7:50 to 5:30pm

One contracted Saturday a year for annual trade show. (3rd Saturday in September)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 33,000.00 per year
