Empower and lead a strong team that can achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)
Provide leadership and / or technical input into the Mould shop, sometimes crossing functional boundaries to ensure department expectations are met, including the organisation of people and processes; allocating and prioritising tasks and activities to maximise effectiveness.
Coach, guide and lead supervisory team to ensure department KPIs are understood and stretched as necessary.
Consult with the Tool Room and Maintenance teams to ensure breakdowns are being worked on in a timely manner according to production priorities.
Attend health & safety meetings (including RIDDOR) to proactively resolve health & safety matters.
Analyse performance data and changing needs of systems and proactively implement or recommend enhancements to deliver logistic improvements
Set clear team goals and objectives, monitor progress and manage whole team and individual performance.
Use influence and negotiation to promote continuous improvement and as part of the team proactively seek new and improved methods of working to increase effectiveness and compliance.
Fully implement all changes to processes, methodology, environment and practice within the department in a positive supportive manner.
Qualification in manufacturing, mechanical engineering or formal technical qualification HNC / HND or relevant knowledge through work experience. (NVQ Level 4)
Formal qualification in leading teams, collaborative leadership and / or team training.
Demonstratable extensive experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team working to critical deadlines.
Proven success in people management and leadership.
Robust experience of working within a fast paced, high output, high variation production environment.
Demonstratable experience and proven track record in providing technical and people leadership in all aspects of the department work.
Experience of managing a large team through multiple and flexible shift patterns.
Competent in analysing data, recommending actions to improve anomalies and drive improvement activities.
Knowledge of standard production and manufacturing techniques.
Experience in Lean Six sigma techniques and business improvement activities.
An exciting new opportunity has been created to support in the leadership and development of our Mould shop. The Mould Shop Cell Manager will be accountable for managing and leading a multi-disciplinary team of Supervisors and Team Leaders overseeing multiple teams of skilled and semi-skilled operatives working on a variety of shift patterns and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation performance and development of the department. The Mould Shop Cell Manager will set and communicate clear departmental goals, safety and quality practices to teams and manage operational deadlines to ensure optimal productivity and effective compliance within a culture of supportive management.
This position will be required to work 6am - 6 pm, 4 days on 4 days off to include weekends and bank holidays
