We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Centre Manager to lead and manage the daily operations of the centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality customer service, safe and efficient facility management, and the promotion of health, fitness, and wellbeing within the community.
Duties and Responsibilities
To lead the workforce at Chesham Moor, ensuring they are suitably trained, managed, and supported to deliver their operational role, and that all paperwork relating to staff is accurate and completed.
To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility, including the gym, outdoor pool and courts, in compliance with the normal operating procedures and where required the emergency action plan.
To be responsible for the standards of maintenance of the building and associated facilities, ensuring reactive repairs are completed quickly, and planned preventive maintenance/ compliance checks are completed as scheduled.
To be responsible for the standards of health and safety in the delivery of the operation of the building and the services, ensuring all aspects of risk assessment have been undertaken and actions delivered.
To be responsible for delivery of the service to the budget set for Chesham Moor Gym and for taking steps to address potential over spend or under income issues that may arise.
To be responsible for the cash handling and cashing up of daily takings for the centre and the preparation of all orders to suppliers and contractors, and the verification of invoices for goods and services received.
To work alongside the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure the success and growth of the cafe.
To lead on the promotion and marketing of the facilities to ensure maximum revenue is achieved from the services offered.
Develop and implement customer engagement strategies to increase membership and retention.
To be responsible for the preparation of policies and procedures, reports, plans and specifications and responding to all correspondence as directed by the Head of Operational Services.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue through memberships, classes, and events.
Work with the wider Council team to achieve the Council climate goal of net zero by 2030.
Attendance at Council meetings as required.
Any other duties as required by the senior leadership team that are commensurate with the grade.
Qualifications:
NPLQ Certificate
Level 2 Gym Instructor
Pool Plant Operation Certificate
First Aid at Work Certificate
Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent literacy levels.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Current driving licence.
Experience / Knowledge:
Managing the operation of a leisure facility.
Managing the performance of a leisure team.
Leading on health and safety within a leisure facility.
Reviewing financial reports to establish changes required.
Completing maintenance and compliance checks.
Implementing policies and procedures.
