Purpose Statement:

The Change Communications Specialist will develop engaging and impactful change communications plans that are closely aligned to the program goals and change management approach. This person will collaborate closely with the program team and its direct stakeholders, as well as other communications teams, regional leaders, and vendors as part of an integrated communications eco-system. This role is both hands on - to execute key deliverables - and strategic - to ensure rigorous oversight and alignment. This opportunity spans an initial three-months period, with the potential to extend for an additional three months - a chance for both short-term impact and long-term growth.

Location: Located at one of our hub offices (Duesseldorf - Germany; Paris - France; Hemel Hempstead - UK; Madrid - Spain; Milan - Italy).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop deep understanding of program stakeholders. Provide audience understanding and advice on stakeholder\'s preferred channels for different stages of change, ensuring all communications activities are built around their needs.
  • Recommend effective communications approach that supports program objectives and change behaviors identified. Ensure clear governance for all communications approvals.
  • Design communications plan to support program objectives and phases, providing robust framework for tracking all communications activities.
  • Devise coherent messaging that is aligned in tone and content with BSC mission, values, and brand, and with regional strategy, messaging, standards and guidelines.
  • Coach leaders on articulation of program vision & goals, providing regular feedback on messaging delivery effectiveness.
  • Arm line managers with practical toolkits and help them customize messaging for local action where appropriate.
  • Deliver key communications materials, consistent with BSC standards and tone, for internal and external audiences - eg. FAQs, presentations, videos, media statements, customer letters.
  • Liaise with approved communications vendors, providing clear and timely briefs - eg. translation companies, creative agencies.
  • Liaise with other communications functions to ensure change program communications integrated into regional channels, where needed.
  • Track and measure stakeholder\'s perceptions of communications activities, providing regular updates to program teams, recommending adjustments where needed.
  • Proactively manage communication issues that arise, preparing and supporting effective spokespeople and coordinating responses.
Requirements:
  • Degree in communications or related discipline
  • Experience of managing communications planning for change programs
  • Change management experience preferred
  • Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills
  • Demonstrated success at working to deadlines with excellent follow-through skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Broad corporate communications experience essential - eg. internal & external corporate audiences, wide stakeholder needs, cross-cultural, issues/crisis management
  • Experience of Healthcare industry preferred either agency or corporate setting (eg. MedTech, pharma, hospital, PR agency specializing in health) or a minimum B2B in regulated environment
  • Fluency in English essential, and proficiency in either European language highly desirable
  • Located at one of our hub offices (Duesseldorf - Germany; Paris - France; Hemel Hempstead - UK; Madrid - Spain; Milan - Italy)
  • 20-30% travel is anticipated with this role, mainly within European region to Boston Scientific offices for team meetings
