THE CHARITY:



Since 1953 the League of Friends has been supporting the Kent and Canterbury Hospital for the benefit of patients, staff and visitors. During that time, over 9m has been spent on a huge variety of equipment and items of comfort.

THE ROLE:



Charity Manager

Location : Kent and Canterbury Hospital

Contract : Permanent

Salary : Competitive and dependent upon skills and experience

Expected Hours : Part-time, 26 hours per week, flexible days. No weekends.

Work Location : In person

This role is part-time but will include attendance at 6 evening meetings per annum at K&C Hospital.

A rewarding and exciting opportunity has arisen to manage the League of Friends' administration office. The successful candidate will work with the Board of Trustees to further develop the charity, building on its excellent reputation and promoting awareness of fundraising, achievements and volunteering opportunities.

Experience of working for a charity or the NHS would be advantageous but not essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Manage the day-to-day administration of the charity

Line manager for Charity Fundraiser, Social Media Support & Library Trolley volunteers

Arrange and attend monthly meetings, compiling agendas/taking minutes

Support the Chairman, Treasurer and other Trustees as required

Oversee the charity's communication, publicity and social media

Compile bi-annual charity newsletter

Arrange payment of invoices using online banking

Record, bank and acknowledge all donations

THE CANDIDATE



Experience:

o Minimum of 3 years' administrative experience

o Computer literacy, especially MS Office skills (Word and Excel in particular)

o Experience of administration in the Charity sector would be a distinct advantage

Skills: Strong communication and organisational skills with attention to detail. The successful candidate will have initiative, be self-motivated and enjoy working on their own

Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office

Personality: Shows initiative, flexible, self-motivated, proactive with the ability to work independently and committed to the charity's mission of supporting Kent and Canterbury Hospital.

Education:



GCSE (including maths and English) or equivalent (essential) Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Driving Licence (preferred)
