We need a
Chartered Accountant
with a strong background in accountancy, taxation and compliance. This is a key role within the firm, with responsibility for managing and reviewing personal tax compliance, supporting sole traders and companies, providing advisory support, meeting with clients, and helping drive the continued growth of the firm.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience to join and lead our small team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various accounting software and possess a solid understanding of financial management principles and compliance. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, managing accounts payable, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.
Duties
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with relevant regulations.
Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
Utilise accounting software such as Sage, VT, Taxcalc,Xero, and PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Provide mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional development within the finance team.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic planning initiatives.
Stay updated on the UK Accountancy standards, current taxation laws and MLR and changes in financial regulations to ensure compliance.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Chartered Accountant or in a similar role within the accountancy and taxation sector.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices and compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software including VT,Taxcalc,QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to mentor and guide junior team members effectively.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
