Overview


We are seeking a dedicated Cheese Maker to join our award winning farmhouse cheese production on the farm. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food safety and quality, with a keen interest in traditional cheese-making processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of high-quality cheese products in a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all cheese production adheres to strict safety standards and maintains our reputation for excellence.

Duties



Prepare and process milk according to established recipes and procedures, ensuring consistency and quality. Monitor and control the cheese-making process, including curd cutting, moulding, pressing, and ageing stages. Maintain accurate records of production batches, ingredients utilised, and processing times. Ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations throughout all stages of production. Conduct routine cleaning and sanitisation of equipment and work areas to uphold hygiene standards. Operate mechanical equipment safely and efficiently, troubleshooting minor issues as needed. Assist in inventory management by tracking ingredients and packaging materials. Follow all health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and contamination during production.

Experience



Prior experience in food production or dairy manufacturing is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided. Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety standards is highly desirable. Basic mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain processing equipment effectively. Good understanding of food safety protocols relevant to dairy products. Competence in basic maths for measurements, calculations, and quality checks. An organised approach with attention to detail to ensure consistency across batches. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.30-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
