Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. We operate 8:00 - 17:00 and occasional private events in a busy city centre cafe/restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a some background in food service management and a flair for creating exceptional dining experiences. This role requires interest in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management, along with the ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment. Duties

Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. Plan and develop innovative menus that cater to diverse tastes while adhering to dietary restrictions. Manage food production processes, including inventory control and food handling practices. Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure optimal performance. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, complying with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during meal periods. Monitor food costs and assist in budget management through effective inventory management. Coordinate catering services for special events, ensuring client satisfaction through exceptional service. Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate new techniques into menu offerings.

Requirements

Proven experience in a Chef role or similar position within the food industry. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management and shift supervision. Proficient in food production techniques, menu planning, and restaurant management. Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen operations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
